Specifically in India, Batik is said to have over 2000 years of history. Materials such as wax or rice starch was used to create the resistance to dye and thus create the Batik designs. The entire process involves various steps such as drawing the basic pattern, redrawing using wax and then applying the dye.Then, the wax is removed after the fabric dries.
