From his early days facing a difficult childhood and a complex relationship with his father to becoming a celebrated actor and a voice for his constituency, Kishan’s story is one of resilience and ambition.

A Childhood Shaped by Struggle and a Father’s Disapproval

Kishan’s early life was marked by hardship and a strained relationship with his father. He recounts instances of being physically disciplined, which he interpreted as a form of communication and even love, given the lack of verbal affection. His father, a learned Brahmin priest, disapproved of Kishan’s artistic inclinations, particularly his involvement in Ramleelas, even playing female roles. This disapproval led to severe beatings, pushing a young Kishan to run away from home with just ₹500, a decision his mother encouraged for his safety.

He reflects on his father’s strict discipline and desire for him to achieve something significant, fearing that acting would bring shame. Kishan shares a poignant memory of his father crying when he finally started earning and providing for the family, a moment of reconciliation and pride.
