Black Tree India Acquires Koovs.co.in Domain to Boost Traffic
New Delhi, India – October 10, 2024 – Black Tree India, a leading Indian fashion brand, has announced the acquisition of the domain name Koovs.co.in. This strategic move aims to drive internal traffic to Black Tree's primary online store, www.myblacktree.com.
The acquisition comes after Koovs, a Delhi and UK-based online fashion marketplace, ceased operations in December 2019. Previously, Koovs was acquired by SGIK 3 Investments, owned by Waheed Alli, the company's chairman and largest creditor.
This development follows Koovs' inability to secure additional funding from its major shareholder, Future Lifestyle Fashion Ltd (FLFL), a subsidiary of the Future Group. FLFL's failure to invest the promised $8.34 million ultimately led Koovs to enter administration.
