Information
Dosa, a popular South Indian dish that resembles a thin pancake, is a delicacy everyone enjoys. And why not make it even healthier by serving it with some desi ghee? Well, P-TAL has your back! With our combo set of Brass Dosa Tawa and Ghee Pot, your Dosa cooking experience will be great!
The Brass Dosa Tawa from P-TAL makes cooking and eating a memorable experience. The healthy metal keeps the nutrition intact. The tawa's size makes cooking dosas quick and easy. Additionally, P-TAL's Dosa Tawa provides more heat than other non-stick tawa.
P-TAL's Brass Dosa Tawa should be greased in oil overnight. This prevents the dosa batter from sticking to the tawa, making it glide and fold easily. Since it is tin-coated on the inside, it is naturally non-stick and enhances the taste.
The Brass Ghee pot's hammered design gives it a vintage look! It comes with a lid and a spoon, making storage and usage highly convenient.

1. Why is the brass dosa tawa tin-coated?
A food expert tested our product, and making dosas or pancakes on it is entirely safe without worrying about sticking.
2. Here is a quick hack for making the Perfect Dosa
- Try making dosas at a low flame. This would ensure that your Kalai (Tin Coating) lasts long and gives you the best dosas!
- Season the tawa with oil on low flame and rub the surface with an onion or a potato to ensure the dosa doesn't stick.
- You should use a wooden spatula to avoid scratching the kalai from the tawa.
3. Why is the Ghee Pot not tin-coated?
Usually, brass is coated with tin to prevent any toxic reactions. However, if we keep ghee in a tin-coated product, it shall turn unusable within a week. It is important to remember that brass only reacts with sour stuff.
4. Does it tarnish?
Yes. Purity has its way of being visible. As pure silver turns black over time, pure brass also tarnishes.
5. What if the Ghee turns Green?
If the ghee comes in contact with salt, the ghee might turn green. Even if a salty spoon comes in contact with ghee, the ghee will slowly turn green. It is best to get rid of that ghee, clean the pot with clean water and pour in a fresh batch of ghee.
6. What is the best way to clean Brass and Copper utensils?
You can use a normal dishwashing soap to clean the utensils from the inside and Pitambari or a paste made from Flour (Atta), Vinegar/Lemon Juice, and Salt can be applied on the outside to retain the shine of the utensils.
